Tips to remove the semi-permanent nail polish
You have fallen for the tranquility offered by the installation of a semi-permanent varnish and that's it, small demarcations at the base of your nail are beginning to be visible ... It may be time to remove it!
As its name suggests, the semi-permanent varnish is made to last ... So, you can imagine, to remove it, it's a bit more complicated than removing a classic nail polish. Forbidden to scratch under penalty of drastically damaging your natural nails! So to remove your semi-permanent nail polish at home without risk or headaches, and with just a little patience, here is the procedure to follow:
The equipment needed to remove your semi-permanent varnish
A polisher block
Acetone or a solvent containing acetone to remove the varnish
A cuticle regrowth
For the 'dissolution' part, you can bring various accessories:
Cotton and aluminum to create straws
A bowl of manicure in which you dip your hands directly in an acetone bath (pay attention to the waste of product with this solution)
Nail Soaker hoods that work like individual mini dissolving baths for each of your nails
Clipped caps in which you place your cotton already soaked with acetone or solvent lotion
Step 1: It is easier to remove the varnish
Polish the top of your nails with a coarse polishing pad (100/100 for example) to remove the top coat layer. As a reminder, the top coat is the last layer of protective varnish applied at the end of your manicure when the semi-permanent varnish is placed and dry.
By removing this shiny layer, acetone or your solvent penetrates better your varnish and facilitates its detachment.
Step 2: Dissolve the varnish by making twists
To make your 10 foils, cut a large strip of aluminum. Cut it for the first time in the direction of the length, then divide it into 5 bands. Also, prepare 10 pieces of cotton following the same process if you do not have pre-cut strips of cotton at home.
Soak a cotton swab with solvent or acetone and place it on your nail. Wrap a fingertip and cotton in the foil to form a foil and simply repeat the operation for each of your fingers.
Step 3: We are waiting!
The exposure time varies depending on the semi-permanent varnish you use and the type of solvent. As a general rule, the exposure time of the wrappers is between 10 and 15 minutes but after a few tests, feel free to adapt this duration if you have not been satisfied with the result the first time.
Step 4: Remove the layer of semi-permanent varnish
With the help of your cuticle regrowth, remove your polish little by little by gently scraping it. If some small traces of polish persist, do not worry, you will remove them in the next step.
Step 5: We go to finishes!
Once the polish is removed on each finger, make the top of your nails uniform and remove the last pieces of polish with your polisher pad.
Perfectionists can also use a cotton soaked in cleaner (degreasing and cleansing lotion) after this step, but if you do not have one, wash your hands thoroughly at the end of all these operations.
And finally, do not hesitate to pamper your nails with a nourishing cream, nothing better to reinforce them before your next nail polish!
