Everything is a story of concentration!
The difference between eau de toilette, eau de parfum and perfume is in the concentration. The eau de toilette is the lightest, and the most intense scent.
No regulation indicates which concentration corresponds to which name, the brands are therefore free to dose as they wish. In theory, it is the same smell, only more or less strong. But again, perfumers are free to slightly adapt their formulas to bring out a specific feature of the perfume, or to please another clientele.
Concentration directly affects the price. The eau de toilette will be much more accessible than the perfume. However, we will tend to empty it faster. The perfume is more expensive, but it lasts longer and its bottle is often more worked.
They are used differently.
Toilet water
The eau de toilette is light, so you can spray all over your body, the morning after the shower or the evening at bedtime. Its lightness makes it particularly pleasant in summer.
The eau de parfum
This intermediate formulation is longer on the skin than toilet water, you can spray it directly on your skin, or on your clothes and hair. It is ideal for a daily perfume.
The perfume
Sometimes very intense, the perfume should be placed in small drops in the 'hot' places of your body. That is to say that you can apply it on the plexus, inside the wrists and elbows and behind the ears. The perfume can be worn on a daily basis but it is especially recommended for special occasions.
How to choose ?
Depending on your character
If you are discreet and do not like to get noticed, prefer a eau de toilette or a light eau de parfum. If, on the other hand, you are a woman with a strong character, opt for a fragrance that suits you!
Depending on your lifestyle
In open space, or if you are in contact with many people, it is better to choose a discreet eau de toilette to not bother anyone. But for social evenings, do not hesitate to choose your perfume!
